Louise Redknapp heads to the Sunderland Empire in Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 The Musical

Dolly Parton’s smash-hit ‘9 to 5 The Musical’ is heading to Sunderland Empire next month.

Inspired by the award winning 1980 film, it runs from November 9 to 13 and stars Louise Redknapp as ‘Violet Newstead’.

The musical features a book by Patricia Resnick, the legendary film’s original screenwriter, and an original Oscar, Grammy and Tony award-nominated score by country legend and pop icon Dolly Parton.

It tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy – three workmates pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss.

Concocting a plan to kidnap and turn the tables on their despicable supervisor, will the girls manage to reform their office – or will events unravel when the CEO pays an unexpected visit?

Louise will be joined by Vivian Panka who is making her professional UK stage debut as ‘Judy Bernly’, Stephanie Chandos as ‘Doralee Rhodes’, Sean Needham as ‘Franklin Hart Jr.’ Julia J. Nagle as ‘Roz Keith’ and Russell Dickson as ‘Joe’.

The cast is completed by ensemble cast members Alexander Bartles, Sierra Brewerton, Rebekah Bryant, Emily Bull, Demmileigh Foster, Ross Lee Fowkes, Sonny Grieveson, Callum Henderson, Joshua Lear, Sarah-Marie Maxwell, Jon Reynolds, Clayton Rosa, Kirsty Anne Shaw, Ricardo Spriggs, Richard Taylor Woods, Grace Walker and Emily Woodford.
