An investigation continues after a man was found dead in a house in Sunderland.
Police were called to the property on Hudson Road on Saturday morning and the 49-year-old was then pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers began enquiries and arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of supplying a Class A drug.
On Monday, a spokesperson for Northumbria Police confirmed that he has since been released under investigation.
A spokesperson said: “At about 9.40am on Saturday we received a report from the ambulance service that a man had died at a property on Hudson Road in Sunderland.
“Emergency services attended the scene and a 49-year-old man was sadly confirmed dead.
“Enquiries into the circumstances around the death are ongoing.
“A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of supplying a Class A drug and has been released under investigation.”
