Search for boy, 16, missing in the North East continues as safety concerns grow

Fears are growing for the safety of a missing teenager believed to be in the North East .

Izrael O’Connor Ward, 16, left his home in the Wednesbury area of Birmingham on May 7.

The teenager is believed to have travelled to Sunderland the next day and police believe he is still in the Northumbria force area.

Officers confirmed on Sunday that the search for the missing teen is ongoing.

Detective Inspector Ed Hollingsworth of Northumbria Police said: “Enquiries to locate Izrael are ongoing and we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“This is a 16-year-old boy who has not been seen in over a week and it’s imperative that he is found safe soon.”

Anyone who has seen Izrael, or may have information about his whereabouts, is asked to contact the police immediately on 101 quoting reference number 306 110521.
