See if you can spot yourself in these photos of the Great North Run from 2005-2006

We’ve raked through the ChronicleLive and Sunday Sun archives to bring you some snaps from the world’s biggest and best half-marathon from the mid-00s

It’s the 42nd Great North Run this year, with Sir Mo Farah participating in his final-ever competitive race on September 10.

He’ll be joining 60,000 other participants who are all set to run for a charity cause close to home – making the 13.1-mile trip from Newcastle city centre to the South Shields coast.

And while the world’s largest half-marathon is no stranger to celebrity appearances in the past, with the likes of Kevin Keegan, Frank Bruno and Mr Motivator all taking part over the years – today, we’re concentrating on the average person who makes the race as brilliant and captivating as it is.

After all, without the thousands of fundraisers who take part each year, the Great North Run wouldn’t be half the event it is. So we’ve dug out with 25 photos between 2005 and 2006, to see if our readers can spot themselves taking part in the yearly run, which raises millions for charities and good causes.

Whether you’re sporting your best fancy dress, or your tip top running gear – let us know if you catch a glimpse of yourself in our Great North Run photos below.
